I believe that photography can be a powerful tool in passing on knowledge and sparking interest in subjects. I use street photography and rarely use a tripod for anything as I want to be able to capture the spirit of a person before they have time to compose themselves. I have a particular love of photographing people. In South Africa I am working on personal projects within townships and informal settlements - where life is hard and violent and filled with tragedy. But at the same time it has pockets of life, extraordinary love, and children who can still laugh with their eyes while they play together.
