Karen Stentaford is an artist and educator living in Sackville, NB. She works primarily in medium and large format photography, often employing toy cameras and alternative processes. Since 2012, much of her work has been made using the wet plate collodion process. Recent bodies of work investigate ideas of place, absence and memory influenced by the Newfoundland landscape of her childhood. Stentaford completed the Master of Arts in Photography program at the Edinburgh College of Art. She received her Bachelor of Fine Arts from Mount Allison University and Bachelor of Education, Visual Arts Specialist, from NSCAD University and Mount Saint Vincent University.
