Karli Evans is a Photographer + Director based in the jungle of Miami, FL. Energized by urban spaces and local subculture, Karli uses visual storytelling and environment to capture people, creative process and identity. She is interested in exploring the relationship between perception and reality, identity and expression, location and self.
Karli grew up outside of Charlotte, NC, where she became bored with suburbia and dreamed of big city life. She escaped to Miami, FL, at age eighteen to study photography at the University of Miami, where she graduated with a B.S. in Visual Journalism in 2015, and returned to pursue an M.F.A. in Photography & Cinematography in 2018. Karli fell in love with the vibrant culture and landscape of Miami, finding home within a local collective of emerging artists and queer performers challenging the status quo surrounding gender ideals, sexuality and vulnerability.
