Inspired at a young age by the atmospheric black and white photography of Akira Kurosawa films, Kashka Vranken, originally from Poland, now focuses her digital camera on the ever-giving nature in her adopted home of Australia. Working primarily with the macro lens enables her to tune into the miniscule realm and highlight the correlation between the minute and immense, which she deems essential to humanities understanding and appreciation of the universe and its creation. Through her ability to abstract and subvert the elements of nature, she hopes to inspire others to look beyond and see the connection between the various realms of nature, and in doing so become much more sensitive towards the future of our planet.
