Kerry Kolenut was born in New Jersey. She received her MFA in Photography from Tyler School of Art, Temple University in 2009 and her BFA from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2006. Drawing inspiration from where she grew up, her work is photo based and focuses on themes relating to identities, structures, and memories within different types of communities.
