Larisa Fedotova is an artist, based in Moscow, Russia, who works with photography, objects, installiations and video.
After graduating from economics faculty at Plekhanov Russian University of Economics in 2002 (hons) she focused at social aspects of human being and studied photojournalism at Moscow State University and documentary photography at School of Visual Arts in Moscow, then at Fotodepartament foundation, Saint-Petersburg. Currently she is studying at Master’s program ‘New Art Strategies’ at Institute of Contemporary Art (ICA, Moscow, Russia). In 2015 she took part in residence at ICA, Moscow in collaboration with Goldsmiths, University of London.
Since 2011 she have being pursued her artistic projects. Also she curated a children educational project at the Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts Education Center, also worked as photographer and teacher in social program of the charity organization for children with disabilities.
In 2015 she was selected for participate in VI Moscow Biennale of Contemporary Art, parallel program ‘Event gorizons’.
The sphere of her interest comprise the questions about current circumstances of human identity formation. New social, information and psychological issues influence derectly to defining the point at which a person perceive the world. Also changing environment induce people to establish new relationships. Based on own experience in social projects, Larisa explores and engages actual communication between people. In her last works LaRisa discovers forms of connection with viewer by a blend of different media.
