I was born in the Northeast of Brazil in April 1984, and I have been living in London since 2014, where I studied photography at the British Academy of Photography, and Makeup for Fashion at the London College of Fashion.
My photography career was founded in stage and theatre, and this landscape provided an opportunity to tell rich stories with images that are powerful and compelling. It also influenced the way I compose, frame, and how I use light, shadow, and colour. I am deeply fascinated by the characters of people, and my photography is the process by which I choose to explore myself, through people, things, and the world around me. Sometimes I confront pain and joy as my source of inquiry and inspiration. I can describe it as a journey of self-discovery through self-expression. My work is constructed with poetic intention and commercial precision. Sources of inspiration include art performance, theatre, fashion, visual art, and social issues. Upcoming projects include; families and communities of Albino peoples in Uganda, and portraiture of sex workers in London.
