Leandro Taques is a documentary photographer based in Curitiba, Brazil. He holds a degree in Jornalism from Tuiuti University, in Curitiba, and has attended the post-graduation course “Photography as a means to research in Social Sciences”, at Faculdade Cândido Mendes, Rio de Janeiro. In 2006, Leandro Taques has developed the Project “The Portrait of Peace – Angola – África”, which has resulted into a book with the same title, and an exhibition that toured for more than fifteen Brazilian cities. This Project on Angola won a special category of the Journalistic Prize Vladimir Herzog of Amnesty and Human Rights 2007. He also had pictures selected to the permanent collection of MEP - Maison Europeenne de la Photographie, Paris, France.
He presently develops documental photography projects with Guarani Indians in Paraná.
