Growing up with a father who was a keen photographer himself, Lena Stjernström early became familiar with looking at fine art objects, statues and to define beauty. Through the lense of his Zeiss Ikon camera, he taught her how to find the light and to catch the life in a picture. The camera became a way of communication, but also a way to view and explore the world. She was awarded “Vågåprisen 2012” by Morten Krogvold. “This is a photographer gambling with the expression – and her abilities”. Lena Stjernström currently lives in Stockholm, Sweden, and was invited as “The Director’s Choice 2017” to Nordic Light International Festival of Photography, Kristiansund, Norway.
