I am an eighteen-year-old American/Canadian photographer who has been living in Mozambique, Africa. For the past five years I have been documenting the culture of Mozambique. My time in Africa has had a profound affect on how I see the world and who I am. The oppression I have witnessed has given me the passion to become a documentary photographer to expose the plight of the displaced and oppressed peoples across our world. It is a great honor to be attending Syracuse University in the Fall of 2016, where I have been accepted into one of the most well known and revered programs for the field of work I am going into. Africa has been forever branded on my heart. Here in Mozambique is a home that my feet will leave, but never my heart.
