I was born in South Africa. My Husband and I moved to Belgium in 2008 for his work.
We have two boys that was born in Belgium and I can now say that I have the privilege to be at home.
Not working was a huge change in my life, and I had a big identity crisis because of that - who I am without all the things that gave me meaning in South Africa? Work, salary, car, friends, family. Here I started with none of that. It was an amazing journey for me that I had to see that who I am is not in what I see, money, people, house, car etc but the unseen. Being a child of God, His beloved.
For my 40th birthday I bought myself a Canon 50D. I loved every minute of this new hobby. I am still on the amazing journey of seeing Christ around me through people and the wonderful joy to capture people, their joy and sorrow. To capture a mom and dad with a child seeing the love the child have for each one in a different way. Something that was not evident before.
I was intrigue by the storytelling photography of Duane Michals and started to incorporate that in my photos.
