I was born in 1971, in Quito, Ecuador. I am a photographer and digital artist. I attended Parsons School in New York and later transfered to Parsons Paris. I returned to my country of origin before concluding my college studies for health reasons, which largely makes me a self-educated professional. The limited materials and resources I faced when I returned home opened a huge door for me. I learnt to take advantage of what I had available and experimented.
My personal life, facing death loosing my parents and my brother at different stages since I was a kid and other personal experiences lead me to – chaos, pain, restlessness, silence. It is through persons that I fall in love with the camera once again. I learnt to look beyond seeing and to listen beyond hearing. Taking pictures, thus, becomes something infinite because I reflect myself through portraits. Photography is healing. My artistic proposals entail human emotionality.
I currently live in Quito, Ecuador. During my career as a photographer, I performed several individual and collective exhibits. Since 2007 I had obtained several honorable mentions from IPA (International Photography Awards) and the Silver Award from the Canon Creative Asia Awards 2010.
