About LUCA ORTOLANI

My «World is there!» as the poster of an exhibition on twentieth-century Trieste said, exhibited in the 1990s near my high school. It is beyond, beyond form, beyond conformism and the now rampant political correctness, beyond the fake freedom falsely ensured by Social Media, beyond my apparently "NORMAL" life...

My first shots at 8 years old, with a Kodak plastic film, then I continue in high school, shooting on Velvia and printing in Ciba Chrome, and then becoming passionate about large natural landscapes during a first trip to the United States. Extreme colors alternating with the first shots in Black and White.

Photography becomes an escape from everyday life, a vital impulse, a liberating cry from a life "like everyone else"...

Continuous search for excellence and a sense of perfection, but also for "wrong" images, outside the box, I look for balance in the forms of a natural landscape, but also the flicker in a person's gaze stolen from the car window in movement.
