I am a photographer and a writer. I have had two books of photographs published and have made exhibitions for public spaces in San Francisco since 1998. Naming the Homeless, was first shown in Grace Cathedral at Christmas. Eight of the thirty participants got work. My images of the actress Tilda Swinton were projected on the north and south faces of City Hall for a week where at night the homeless and theatergoers - two groups who are normally afraid of one another - stood together pondering what they were looking at. I made a film, Genevieve Goes Boating, about a girl whose family was in crisis and it played in the lobby of Fort Mason's Building C for nearly three years where two million people a year visit.
