Art as an exploration – of the physical world, of ways of seeing, of human emotion and intention. It is an alternate way to experience the world, an essential complement to rational thought. By looking intently I appreciate relationships among people, shapes, tones, space, perspective, etc. These elements underlie and evoke emotion, especially when combined effectively at the right moment. This is what I aim for in my photographs - to communicate a broad range of feelings without words or analysis.
