Born in Żyrardów (Poland) in 1986, Łukasz Kubicki is a Cardiff based artist. He moved to Wales in 2008, which has since become his home and place to raise his family.
A long passion for photography lead to formal education and 1st class degree in BA (Hons) Photographic Art at University of Wales, Newport.
His photographic practice is material, sometimes sculptural, always nuanced and multivalent - centred around philosophical notion of time and visual, and as a con-cept of denotation and interpretation.
Through the experimenting with different processes, media and display, his - mostly studio based - work reconfigured traditional photographic representation.
Minimalistic and often formal work elicited much positive feedback, not only from peers and associates, but also from a large audience through exhibitions and publicity that include: “International Print Exhibition 158”, Royal Photography Society, London/Aberystwyth/Worcester/Warrington/Derby; “Cream 2015”, Crane Kalman, Brighton; “Beyond the Camera”, Pingyao International Photography Festival 2015, China; “Made to Stray”, The Abacus, Cardiff; “Graduate Photography Online 2015”, Source Magazine; “Theatre of Life” Riverfront, Newport; “Pattern in My Carpet”, Project Space, Newport.
