Maj-Britt Torhoff was born in Wilhelmshaven, Germany, in 1981. She initially studied politics and history at the University of Oldenburg, but switched to pharmacy and became a pharmacist after graduating from the Technical University of Braunschweig in 2008.
She is a self-taught fine art photographer focusing on maritime, industrial, and urban themes.
