I am an engineer with a strong passion for the arts. I grew up in the mountains of Lebanon, went to college in Beirut, and found myself in Los Angeles in 2006 for graduate school. I started taking photography seriously in high school with a film SLR and a curiosity for exploration. Twenty years later, albeit with much different equipment and subject matter, I still have the same excitement picking up a camera.
Photography for me is a recording of human intervention in nature - romantic, albeit inadmissible proof that the universe is being observed across time. Photography also appeals to me as a process. The science, technological innovation, and artistic skills involved in capturing and manipulating light and color connect the passions of my heart to those of my brain.
