I'm a self-educated photographer born and living in Florence, Italy. In these days we have millions people taking photos, publishing in the web, selling them in stock images websites, we have google images finding a photo of everything from anywhere in the world, we have manipulation software with endless possibilities. In this world i want to do something original, unique, made with me not just by me. I've stated researching macro-photography for a coincidence. Some green mold grown up in my fridge, on my food. In these days i was reading the old Colour Photography Manual of Andreas Feininger, and a concept stunned me: we mostly see through the memory, cause the brain dont need new inputs about visual information that already have. I've spent four years experimenting on that, manipulating the reality instead of the digital files, building small worlds and landscapes with any sort of materials, lighting tecniques, lasers and lens combination. Then i've started playing with a smartphone, a common and even "vulgar" photographic tools, shooting around the common world, loving the bad quality camera, and any bug and strange unwanted effect, any flow of the image, working hard the results with the manipulating apps of the device. And, most important, putting them on instagram, as a very fast experiment loop. My current research is about the spirits, the ancestors that lives with us, inside and outside us. Our living history.
