Based in Sydney, my work has evolved into a narrative style of fine art photography. I am interested in telling stories of lost people, lost places, and the expressive, gossamer images that we collect through life.
My aim is always to leave enough room for the viewer to bring their own instincts to what the photo is saying – and to create work which elicits a visceral reaction of feeling and recognition.
Inspired by cinematography and the old Masters, my aim is to create images that are both intimate and have a sense of majesty.
This year I have been a finalist in the Moreton Bay Region Art Awards and the 2nd Charles Dodgson Black and White Awards. In 2016 I won the Art category of Australia's Top Emerging Photographers Award (Capture magazine), made the Directors Cut for the prestigious 64th Blake Prize for Spiritual and Religious Art and was a semi-finalist in the Moran Contemporary Photographic Prize. In 2015 I was a Finalist, Fine Art Category in the 7th and the 8th Julia Margaret Cameron Awards.
I am currently working on a new series, A Version of the World, based on scenes or lines from classic literature. My last solo exhibition, Beneath Leafy, was part of Head On 2016 and also showed at Red Gallery in Melbourne.. In September, I showed at the 4th Biennial of Fine Art and Documentary Photography in Berlin. I am represented by Contact Sheet Gallery in Sydney.
