I have worked in the cosmetic industry for over a decade and as a women my opinion of the industry has been that it prays on women's insecurity and need to feel ageless and beautiful. Because the work can feel shallow and fantasy like, I have found my connection to real beauty behind the lens. The camera and the street has a way of grounding me, allowing me to feel connected to the heartbeat of the city. This work I am presenting has enabled me to blend my occupation with the harsh reality of how it can impact a person fighting a terminal disease in the most positive way. I've been deeply honored and humbled and would like to showcase the strength and power of these women through the story behind their beauty rituals.
