Born and raised in Athens , Greece, Maria Niora has been honing her skills in minimalistic and color photography for the past several years.
Originally an actress with a BA in Sociology, she turned to photography during the Greek Crisis and cultivated her childhood love for moving images, where she blended her theatrical background, her innate ability to see balance, shapes and colour and create images, with her greek origins and love for the minimal in photography.
Maria's evolution into the minimal photography allows her to explore even further and add another element to this union and extend the range of her talent even further. Her use of her own body textures, the uniqueness of the body colour and the shapes of it, into creating and exploring new pictures with the use of texts from the theatre world and poetry , cinematic movies and sequences to challenge her own boundaries of fine art photography.
