Hi my name is Mary-Jennifer McDowell. I am a 54 year old single mother of twin boys 15 & my youngest who is 14. I am a school teacher/English teacher, tutor and Artist with 30+ years experience. I was born and bred in France and lived in France, England and South Africa. I have worked in many school & tutoring environments and with many special needs children and foster kids, I still do. Bringing up my boys in the best way possible has always been my utmost priority. My Art of course had to take second place but I have always yearned to one day getting back into it somehow, some day, hopefully professionally. Now that my boys have grown into wonderful, independent, healthy teenagers, it is time for me to be creative again. Any opportunity, alongside my day jobs, that I may have to exhibit photographs or paintings are absolute gems and privileges I cannot ignore so here we are.
These portraits are my debut and I hope a unique opportunity to perhaps get some sort of gaze of wonder and of course, joy out of them.
