I grow up with my grand father’s rangefinder in my hands. Studying cinema allowed me to look at the world from many different perspectives. Working as creative director of some of the most important Italian communication agencies, I have always held the world of photography as the “base language” of the communication.
There are masters, very different from each other, in cinema, art and photography that keep inspiring me: from Jean Luc Godard, David Lynch and Antonioni to Kubrick, from Terry Richardson, Juergen Tellerm and Robert Mapplethorpe all the way to Caravaggio.
I develop each of my projects by contaminating technologies with the purest human poetry.
I always confront myself with analog, instant and digital photography, and mixing them together I have distilled quite a remarkable challenge for myself. The final images only live together with selected quotes. The process of taking photos is “in the photos”, what Bresson once called “the decisive moment”.
