Born in 1984 in Bangladesh. In his youth, Md Shahnewaz Khan dreamt of being a writer but photography instead became his mode of expression. Son of a freedom fighter, Khan is a Documentary Photographer and Managing Director of VOHH Institute, based in Chittagong, Bangladesh.
He has own over 40 International Awards, including prestigious Ian Parry Scholarship and Alexia Student Grant, has nominated three times in Joop Swart Masterclass organized by World Press Photo and UNICEF photo of the year award. Also won: Bangladesh Photographic society GRAND, Ashahi Shimbun Gold Medal, “Future Voices Jury Winner" award (twice) from Eye Time, 1st prize in environmental category from Photoshare, The Andrei Stenin International press photo award etc.
His projects has been published in The Sunday Times, CNN, P3, EBS, Eye of Photography, EyesOpen, Smithsonian, Phosmag, Lensculture, Photojournale, Photographic Museum of Humanity, The Quiet American, Resource, Lucie Foundation etc.
His work exhibited across Europe to Asia. Somerset House in London, House of Lords in London, Royal Geographical Society in London, United Nations in New York, City Center in Frankfurt, Norma - Aeroporto di Catania in Italy, Just another photo festival and all over the world. Such as, USA, UK, Italy, Germany, Switzerland, Turkey, France, Portugal, Qatar, UAE, Iran, Morocco, Malaysia, Japan, India, China, Russia, Bangladesh, Ethiopia etc.
