How does a non-stop daily flood of imagery impact on our own thoughts, memories, desires, dreams, sense of self, and conception of reality?

Max de Esteban’s elegant new book combines high-minded philosophical reveries with beautiful portraits of intriguing characters.

Max de Esteban makes X-rays of obsolete technology products that were used — not too long ago — for producing and communicating art. His work poses the philsophical questions of how we change (artistically, culturally, politcally) when our tools change.

Max De Esteban uses multiple exposure techniques, collage and overlapping transparent images to depict the (imaginary) inner digital microelectronic layers of sleek consumer goods that are increasingly mediating human relationships and emotions.
