My name is Mel, and I am a US citizen currently residing in Germany for the next three years. I have been studying and practicing photography for the last 13 years; I started shooting film with a Pentax K1000, and hand developed and printed in a darkroom. I really enjoyed alternative formats and processes. My favorites were infrared, lomography, and working with liquid emulsion. I have been studying and practicing other mediums and art forms over the years, but I came back to my photographic roots about two years ago to shoot digitally. All of my work is accomplished with in-camera techniques, and processed with Adobe Lightroom. Though my work is a bit surreal, there is no digital manipulation or compositing; only found frames in the real world. My personal goals are to work somewhere in the art industry, finish my education so that I can teach, and to have my own darkroom so I can work with film again.
