My name is Gabriel da Silva Melo, 27 and I am an independent photographer living in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Photography is the way I chose to frame the world, to understand it, to express what I feel about it, what I absorb from it. I always seek to work between the Arts and Communication fields of knowledge, searching for bits of reality where I can print my authorship on. This way I pursue the objective of visually say something that might interest and touch other people. Nowadays I am trying to find my place in this competitive and, sometimes, brutal industry. I live for Photography and try to make a living from it too. I am currently a freelance contributor to the Nurphoto Agency (Italy).
I have a degree in History, a Master’s Degree in Social History and now I am a student in the postgraduation program of Imagery and Photography at Universidade Cândido Mendes – IUPERJ, in Rio de Janeiro.
