I am a narrative photographer, weaving my narratives in both words and photography.
Over the last four years, I have thrown out everything I previously knew about photography, as well as over 40 years of accumulated Canon equipment and experience. From students of Ansel Adams, I have learnt to visualise my final artwork and to work with the Zone System.
I now work exclusively with FujiFilm mirrorless cameras.
I owe a special debt of gratitude to Gavin Seim, who, via his videos, has taught me how to "see" light and how to put it all together. I have been mentored by various photographers including Joe DiMaggio and JoAnne Kalish who have taught me how to see at what is in front of me.
Last I published a book, "The Abayudaya: Judaism Emerging, A Spiritual Journey into Africa" where I relate, in words and photographs, the history of the Abayudaya people's century long road to recognition as part of the Jewish world and my contribution to the latter part in that journey.
