Merette Uiterwaal (b. 1990, The Netherlands) is a photographer interested in the simplicity of everyday life. Due to her colour blindness, Uiterwaal views the world in an unusual way. Her abstract portraits investigate the dynamics of the landscapes of our surroundings. The resulting, surreal images are open for the viewer's interpretation and understanding.
Photography platform GUP New selected her as one of the New Dutch Photography Talents for 2021.
She is currently living and working in Zaandam, The Netherlands.
