I was born in 1967 and grew up in Washington, DC and its suburbs. Since 2016, I has been working on ‘99 Snapshots, a documentary film and set of photos about New Yorkers I had randomly met and photographed in 1999 - which was when I began my career as a photographer, first working for community papers in Brooklyn, and then the New York Daily News. After that, I worked freelance, photographing over the years for numerous newspapers and magazines, NYC restaurants, national brands, small businesses, schools, and non-profits.
Throughout the years I have continued to create my own work. I have photographed New York, family, friends, still life, street, portraits, and many travel destinations. I have combined text and images to make book layouts and self-contained works, as well as photo collages. I use digital but have feel sad about the near-disappearance of analog in the world. I've been picking up my film camera more and more lately.
