I started doing photography seriously about seven years ago, with a DSLR I got for my 40th birthday. The following year, my only child was born. I honed my skills largely on weekend walks and holidays with the family, with the odd hour snatched here and there with the Nikon. This has shaped both the subject matter I choose, and my approach to it - if the fresh view doesn't strike me straight away I've generally moved along. Perhaps this will change as my daughter grows up and I will spend my days waiting for the light to fall the right way in the right place - or maybe that would be a mistake. I look forward to finding out.
