About Michael Starkman

Michael Starkman started making photographs after training in drawing and printmaking. He has an MFA from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and has taught in the visual arts departments of Edinboro University of Pennsylvania, Southeastern Louisiana University, and UC Berkeley Extension. His work is included in the collections of the Harry Ransom Center in Austin, Texas, the Mead Art Museum in Amherst, Massachusetts, and Galerie Hollar in Prague. He has shown in solo and group exhibitions, including the Foto and Photo Festival in Cesano Maderno, Italy, numerous exhibitions at RayKo Photo Center, San Francisco, and CordenPotts Gallery in San Francisco. He lives and works in San Francisco.
