Photography has been in my life for the past five years. I first started in high school, in grade 11 with black and white film photography. I learned a lot about composition and many other aspects of a photograph. Since being out of high school I have learned a lot about lighting on my own by photographing antiques for my mother. As well, I have worked in a photography store learning more about cameras and enjoying teaching others how they can capture images.
I am always eager to learn more about photography everyday. I have a large collection of books on the history of photography and books that can teach me different ways to view or understand photography.
I love to photograph nature, antique cars, candids and architecture. These are just some of the areas I have explored so far.
At this present time I am enrolled at Camosun College and am taking the Visual Arts program. By taking multiple art courses my view of photography and art is changing. For example, my drawing class has taught me how to see the details around me in a different way.
For the future I hope to work for National Geographic or possibly a similar type of magazine. The type of photographs that the photographers take in National Geo are elegant, emotional, beautiful and so much more.
