Mickey Smith is a conceptual artist and photographer. Her practice has been engaged with a longstanding inquiry into libraries, books and archives and in particular the social significance of their physical existence or disappearance.
Smith received a BA in Photography from Minnesota State University Moorhead in 1994. She has exhibited throughout the United States, in China, Russia and New Zealand. Mickey is the recipient of awards from the McKnight Foundation, Forecast Public Art Affairs, CEC ArtsLink, Americans for the Arts and Creative New Zealand.
