Mikey Rioux is a visual and performance artist. He received a BFA Magna Cum Laude in printmaking and video art from Cornish College of the Arts in 2009. He was founder and Artistic Director of Impetus Dance Theater in Chicago from 2000 - 2005, and founder and Artistic Director of The Sho, an experimental performance group with a focus on dance from 2006 to 2015. As a dancer Mikey has performed with many high profile companies including River North Dance Chicago, Lucky Plush Productions, Luna Negra Dance Theater, Kate Corby & Dancers, Lingo, Scott/Powell Performance, and Salt Horse. His choreography has been presented by PICA’s TBA Festival, Ten Tiny Dances Seattle, Northwest Film Forum, The Inconvenience, Mordine & Co., Cornish Dance Theater, and Giordano’s Jazz Dance. The visual art creations of Mikey have been exhibited throughout Seattle, Chicago, and Harrisburg. Mikey has been walking around with his camera for twenty years.
