Moe Wakai is a photographer and textile artist whose work bridges the external and internal worlds through contrasting mediums. With a BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, she uses photography to document her relationship with the world, capturing the nuanced conversations between subject and lens. In contrast, her textile work offers a meditative space for introspection, where meticulous crafting leads to moments of calm and contemplation. Her art invites viewers into a space of ease and self-reflection, creating harmony from seemingly opposing elements. Moe’s work has been recognized with residencies at Belgrade Art Studio and Creekside Arts, as well as awards from the International Photography Awards and Parrot Fine Art. Recent exhibitions include "ConTEXT II" with Art Fluent and "Through the Mask: Conversations about Culture and Covid" at Saint Vincent College. Featured in various publications, including Shoutout LA and VAST Magazine, she continues to explore the intersection of beauty and existential introspection in her work.
