Moira McCarthy is an Australian author and photographer who regularly visited Paris to maintain her connection with French language and culture. In 2007, her heritage photography was first included in an Exposition held by the Bibliothèque de Géographie at the University of Paris and later that year she was presented with a Gold Medal at the Venice International Photo Contest. Over the past decade, Moira has achieved forty Honorable Mentions from the International Photography Awards and the Prix de la Photographie Paris, many for her studies of the iconic sites of Paris. She has also been successful with her photographs of the diverse bayside landscape of Melbourne, Australia. In the 2016 Professional Section of the IPA Awards, her four Honorable Mentions showed creative experimentation with digital and special effects, whilst in 2017 she was recognised for her photograph of celebrity, Kim Kardashian, captured amidst an adoring throng.
