Monika Chrabąszcz-Tarkowska was born in Krakow, Poland. She received her Master of Fine Arts degree from the Academy of Fine Arts (ASP) in Krakow, graduating from the Faculty of Industrial Design with a specialization in Visual Communication. Upon graduation, she focused on graphic design, collaborating with various cultural institutions. In 2012, she engaged in an acclaimed local association “Good Guilds of Krakow”, where she was responsible for graphic design and photographic documentation. A photo exhibit, called “Traditional Craftsmen and Service Providers of Krakow”, that emerged from that project, was displayed in Krakow. Starting in 2015, she has worked as an instructor in the Faculty of Art at the Pedagogical University of Krakow, heading the Visual Communication Design Studio. In 2017, she was distinguished in the DEBUTS competition as one of the twenty most talented emerging Polish photographers.
