I studied hospitality in Switzerland and worked for many years in Beijing. I got very sick and ended up to be in hospital for month following even longer recovery at home. I needed to change my life and three years ago I bought my first ever camera and went out every day to study on my own. In never left home without my camera and shoot every day, learning by doing.
I follow not a trusted method, as you never know what happens and what you see. I go explore first the life on the streets without camera and then later on start taking photos. It takes sometimes hours on the same spot that the right person and the even more important time is passing by or come around the corner.
I came to photography, because of some photographers I discovered, and studied their way of photography by books, online and exploring. Alex Webb and Robert Frank, both have a political and humanitarian component in their Pictures, and are an example for street photography, as they capture the moment with the perfect lines and light, same as Cartier Bresson. Steve McCurry is an inspiration with his colorful portrait Photos. But as well the old Masters of painting, their paintings with light, emotions and scenery is inspiring.
