About Nancy Schieffelin

Working as a street photographer is a privilege and an adventure. It allows me to see and relate to a place more intimately. The very process of being a street photographer both enlivens and grounds me in the moment. It introduces me to new experiences and relationships. It captures the ephemeral, the universal and the specific, a mood, a slice of life.

I am a retired clinical social worker who has been working in the visual arts for 40 years. Photography has always been one of my mediums. Street photography combines my visual sensibility and my interest in people.
