Nanna Heitmann was born in 1994. She is a Russian/ German freelance photographer, currently spending an exchange semester at Tomsk State University in Siberia. In Germany she studies photojournalism and documentary photography at the University of Applied Sciences and Arts in Hannover, Germany.
In addition to assignments of all kinds, she is dedicated to personal long-term projects - such as about the last coal mine in Germany. Above all, she appreciates photography by giving her insights into worlds that she would never get to know without a camera. The encounter with different people and their stories is what interests her most.
She has received awards and mentions such as the student award of World.Report Award 2018, Kolga Tbilisi Photo, the Rovinj Photodays first prize, the Belgrade Photo Month New Talents. Her work has been exhibited in Italy, USA, Georgia, Lithuania, Serbia, Poland and in Germany.
