Navid Bookani (b. 1986) is currently studying photojournalism and documentary photography in Hanover, Germany.
He acquired first professional experiences working for an internet broadcaster based in Berlin before starting his studies. Later he assisted in the GAF photo gallery in Hanover.
Since he emigrated from Iran to Germany in 2008 and in particular after starting his studies in 2014, he has focused his photography on marginalised people within the society: people fighting with serious issues of health, poverty or violence. He is keen to narrate their struggles while accompanying them through suffering, recovery, back into life or however they might endure.
