Trained in sociology, Ng Hui Hsien works as an artist, writer and researcher. Her art practice primarily uses photography as a medium to explore narrative possibilities, and she has exhibited in Singapore, Malaysia, Iceland, Greece, Germany and Japan. In 2016, she had her first solo exhibition at Objectifs – Centre for Photography and Film (Singapore).
The same year, her hand-stitched artist books The Weight of Air was self-published in an edition of 90 and is distributed by Reminders Photography Stronghold (Japan). Her work has been featured in media channels such as Photo District News (PDN) Emerging Photographer magazine, PDN Edu, Fraction Magazine Japan, and Invisible Photographer Asia (IPA).
