I'm a 28 years old freelance portrait photographer that wakes up every morning with a smile, simply because I know i'll never run out of the thing I love the most : people. And their stories.
I am completely self taught as I stumbled upon photography while living in Japan, continuing my studies of the Japanese Language. It was a beautiful accident as photography completely changed my life. It gave me something to say, and a reason to say it.
My newly found obsession with photography brought me to complete a 365 project in 2011 with the aim to became better and better every day, to squeeze down the infamous 10000 hours every creative has to spend in order to master his or her medium. I then moved back to Italy in 2012 and assisted great photographers and mentor such as Eolo Perfido and Susi Belianska, all while proceeding with my freelance career and finding my voice.
In 2014 I cycled the length of Japan in 3 months with my best friend, a comic artist by the name of Scottecs, for our second "unCOMMON:Stories" project (www.uncommonstories.org) and then found myself in Ethiopia being Steve McCurry's first assistant. Once that was over, I moved to Melbourne, Australia, where I now live and work as a freelance.
My work revolves around people and stories.
I am in my natural element whenever I have to shoot environmental portraits in locations I have never seen: working with flash light and shaping the space around my subject is my bread and butter. And all goes in favor of telling a story with a single image.
My work is colorful, bold and illustrative.
I work on conveying strength and interest out of those characters that allow me to tell their story with a camera.
