I am a former financial and business journalist who gave up a career in the media to study a Masters degree in Art History and become an artist and photographer.
I work from a dark room and studio at A4 Studios community of artists in Altrincham, South Manchester. I have also been working as an artist for one year as part of a collective of 5 other photographers called Unio Collective. Last summer, we showed work together for a group show at Liverpool Biennial 2018 fringe in collaboration with Open Eye Gallery and funded by Arts Council England.
I am interested in slower, manual and traditional photographic processes with a love for black and white manual printing in the dark room. I am looking to develop my practice in the next two years into wet plate collodion/glass plate negative processes.
To support my art making, I work in The Lowry gallery, Manchester and have previously worked in marketing for Liverpool Biennial and front of house at Open Eye Gallery, Liverpool.
