I was born in Toronto, Canada but lived most of my life in Copenhagen, Denmark where I am also based.
I have studies photography for four years and since 2007 worked as an independent photographer.
I work mainly with portraits which include my series, Black Fanta, portraits of the Afghan National Security Forces shot in the Helmand Province, Afghanistan in 2011 and 2012. Black Fanta was a follow up to the portraits series ‘Returning Soldiers’ from 2007 of Danish soldiers returning from Iraq and Afghanistan. In the summer 2016 I went to Turkey to photograph Turkish oil wrestlers in Edirne. My latest portrait series is a story about women in prison in Peru for the fashion brand CARCEL.
One of my latest projects, currently in post production, is a documentary about a Danish veteran from Afghanistan who lives in the Amazon jungle treating his PTSD with nature medicine. I lived three months over the past three years photographing, filming and interviewing him about his mission to treat other PTSD soldierswith nature medicine and healing.
