The contexts in which I pursue my fine art work are rooted in time on many different levels; how photography is about time, how time can be measured by changing light, landscape, cityscape and death. I am interested in politics and how people through conflict, are forced to move on, often seamlessly rebuilding their lives, leaving a life behind. Recent projects are addressing these issues. I have been preoccupied with displacement as my own experience growing up in the Uk in the shadow of the Iranian revolution left a mark on my childhood. This experience has become a conscious role in my work and I have begun making work with the juxtaposition of images; relating the present to the past. Within and Between Family is the beginning of a new enquiry.
