Nina Zillah Bekink is a 32 years old Johannesburg based queer photographer. She is known for her documentary style work, but is also set apart by her subversive portraiture and imaginative concept shoots. Bekink has a degree in Journalism and Politics and is completing a Masters in Education for Social Change. She runs a pro Johannesburg creative company called Jolburg.com. Her photographic and video works deal predominantly with issued faced / beauty expressed by the LGBTIQ+ community - as well as an intimate portrait series of her wife and their private moments. Bekink's eye for the unusual and the strange, along with her ability to get into people's most vulnerable and private moments, makes for powerful story telling and moving visual works.
Bekink currently lives in Johannesburg South Africa with her wife and is house landlord of a queer creative community.
