With a Master of Arts in Film Directing from the Baltic Film and Media School (Tallinn University), he brings a strong cinematic sensibility to his work.
He leads workshops, shoots editorial commissions, and develops long-term personal projects. His first solo exhibition, Encounters (Kauppakeskus Redi, 2021–2022), documented the work of street-based social workers and their clients, including people experiencing homelessness and memory-related illnesses. The documentary project was supported by the Arts Promotion Centre Finland (TAIKE).
Wollsten is recognized for his in-camera approach to street photography, pushing the genre’s boundaries through intentional camera movement and multi-exposure techniques, creating surreal, atmospheric images. His black-and-white imagery explores themes such as fragmentation, alienation, and impermanence.
